Child Safety
Ss Michael & John’s Primary School holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility. Central to the mission of our school is an absolute commitment to fostering the dignity, self-esteem and integrity of children and young people and providing them with a safe, supportive and enriching environment to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
Ss Michael & John’s is a Child Safe School. The Child Safe Standards came into effect in July 2022 and are a vital part of what we do. The Victorian Child Safe Standards are 11 mandatory, minimum standards designed to prevent child abuse and create safe cultures. Ministerial Order 1359 legally mandates these standards for all Victorian schools, requiring them to embed child safety in leadership, empower students, ensure cultural safety, and manage risk in online/physical environments.
